Chinese language and culture courses at the Confucius Institute.

Spring 2019

The Confucius Institute for Innovation & Learning at Aalborg University offers free Chinese language and culture courses for all staff and students at AAU.

This semester, we are offering five different courses: Class 1, Class HSK, Class 2, Chinese character and calligraphy Course, and Chinese Tea Course.

Class 1 is for total beginners and is theme-based. Learners will be introduced to elements of grammar, vocabulary, oral skills, listening comprehension, and reading of the Chinese language.

Class HSK is for learners who are interested in learning Chinese systematically. HSK (Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi) is the only internationally recognised test for Chinese as a foreign language and can therefore serve as proof of your Chinese language skills.

Class 2 is for learners who have learned Chinese last semester and are interested in further developing the skills acquired last semester. This includes grammar, oral expression, listening comprehension, reading, and writing of the Chinese language.

Chinese character and calligraphy Course is designed for learners who are interested in learning how to write Chinese characters. You will learn to write some basic Chinese characters using Chinese brush and ink, to know the formation of Chinese characters and to appreciate various calligraphy styles.

Chinese Tea Course is for learners who are interested in Chinese tea art. You will learn to prepare the tea table, to brew tea in the Chinese way, to appreciate various kinds of Chinese tea, and learn about Chinese tea culture.
