China Confucius Study Plan

The Confucius China Study Plan (CCSP) is a scholarship program funded by the Confucius Institute Headquarters in Beijing, a division under the Ministry of Education of China.

The aim of the CCSP is to enable researchers and other professionals from outside China to conduct relevant research visits or study tours to China. PhD-students also have the chance to apply for a joint PhD-degree program with some of the best universities in China.

The CCSP program only covers projects within the disciplines of Humanities and Social Sciences.

 

Application procedure

There is no application deadline for the CCSP scholarships, as applications are evaluated and approved case by case. However, the Joint PhD Fellowship has an annual application deadline on 15 February.

Joint PhD Fellowship

Support doctoral students registered at Aalborg University to come to China for study, research and writing of their doctoral dissertations.

Duration

From 6 month to 2 years.

Eligibility

  • Non-Chinese citizen
  • HSK (Chinese language test) test score level 3 is required, and priority is given to applicants with higher level of proficiency in Chinese under same conditions

Application material

  • Ph.D. Study Certificate
  • Two letters of recommendation from scholars in related field
  • HSK transcript
  • Abstract of master's thesis or other academic publications
  • Abstract of doctoral dissertation
  • A research plan for the study in China

Funding

  • Lodging and living stipend: 80,000 RMB per year
  • Research fund: 20,000 RMB per year
  • Round-trip international airfare
  • Tuition
  • Other support provided by the host Chinese university
  • Expenses for the foreign supervisor’s visit or research in China
  • Expenses for life and medical insurances in China
  • Group activities and cultural experience

"Visiting scholar to China" Fellowship

This program serves to support teachers, researchers, postdoctoral scholars with the credential of assistant professor and above from Aalborg University to undertake research with Chinese researchers in China.

Duration 

2 weeks to 6 month

Application material

Funding

  • 10.000 CNY per month
  • Round-trip international airfare
  • Life-insurance during stay in China

This program serves to support senior officials from government, education and culture, non-governmental organizations and business.

Duration

2 weeks to 2 month

International Conference Grant

The International Conference Grant aims at supporting researchers at Aalborg University to hold international academic conferences on Sinology or China Studies.

Chinese visiting scholar to AAU Fellowship

This program serves to support Chinese senior scholars to give ECTS credit courses on Chinese economics, business, finance, law, and culture, etc. at Aalborg University.

Duration 

From 6 month to 12 months.

Funding

  • Chinese visiting scholars will receive salary based on expatriation salary standards of the Chinese government.
